S60 Theme Maker Showcase: NaHiD
Over the past two weeks, I’ve brought to you in my S60 Themer Showcase series, two theme makers who focus on simple and classy themes; Dhanusaud and Rugge. Today, we take a ride on the other side with a different approach to themes: more colorful and less abstract. So today’s theme maker showcased is NaHiD.
I’ve started following NaHiD’s blog not so long ago, but over the last few weeks, I have grown attached to his style and work. NaHiD uses SVG themes that fit landscape and portrait screens with a set of nice icons, but also provides his themes with the default S60 icons. He brings back the graphical image theme style that I used to love in some of Taieb’s themes. By using a graphical image, the theme is not crowded like a real photo would do, and hence is still very clean albeit has more meaning and more personality than simple themes. Although I appreciate simple themes at times, I’ve found that recently, every theme maker and his neighbor are releasing one black, red and/or blue theme after the other, with no originality, no creativity whatsoever. That’s why I appreciate NaHiD’s work which brings a breath of fresh air into the equation and makes for a nice, cool and relaxed theme for my handsets.
Also, if you happen to be an Italian football league fan, you might want to check his Italian Club theme series. You can follow NaHiD on his own blog (there are a few things in Turkish I think, but you’ll find your way around, don’t be afraid) and if you like his work, don’t forget to subscribe to his RSS feed. Now, here are a few of my favorite themes amongst his work:
Only Black (also exists in blue, red, orange and green)
