Last week, I promised to introduce you each Friday to my favorite theme makers and their work. I started by Dhanusaud who is admittedly my current favorite, but a few days ago, I learned that Rugge or Rugge89Lau now has a blog of his own. I have been a big fan of Rugge’s work for a few months now, but he used to only post on forums, which made following him such a time-consuming task. I even posted one of his themes here before, it was a mock up of the new themes that are featured exclusively on the E66 and E71.
Now that Rugge has a site of his own, I can finally link to him legally and we can all follow his work closely without much hassle. Rugge is characterized by a set of clean and very graphical themes, which are always elegant and contain a lot of attention to details. When you install his themes, you always feel like your screen is more shiny than it had ever been, almost as if some new lights were turned on beneath it. Instantly amazing!
Rugge has also created an icon pack of his own, which supports probably more than 350 3rd-party apps, and is definitely a feast to use. He always keeps track on new applications and folders and adds their icons to his set. His website also has a Requests page so you can ask him to develop a certain theme, or add a certain icon. It also has a Parts Share page where he will post some of the components he uses on his themes, so if you’re planning on doing some themes of your own, you might want to keep checking that page.
You can follow Rugge on his site which only contains his newest work, and if you like him, don’t forget to subscribe to his RSS, you won’t regret it! Here are a few personal favorite themes amongst Rugge’s old and new work:
Blackberries (modified icons version only)
Eseries (modified and default icons)
Lights (modified and default icons)
Mocca (modified and default icons)
WMP Special Bars (modified and default icons)
Red Stripes, also exists in in Blue
