Thanks to Dennis over at WapReview.com (great site for mobile-related web stuff), I discovered that GetJar.com has a new service available for web publishers that makes it dead-easy to create a visual bookmark for a mobile-friendly website. Since we have a mobile-friendly version of Symbian-Guru.com, I figured surely someone out there would want this.
Basically, this is a simple application that creates a visual bookmark on your phone that behaves like an application. You can set it on your Active Standby if you want, or put it in a folder, whichever you want. When you click on the app, you’re taken straight to the mobile version of Symbian-Guru, easy peasy.
I’ve also recently updated the mobile site to make our new comments stand out a bit more, and added a direct link to our forums. You can also find an easy link to the Symbian-Guru OPML file on there, to download into your Nokia Podcasting application. The full content of the desktop Symbian-Guru is available, including links and images in each post. It’s perfectly formatted for your phone!
You can download this from GetJar.com, and there is also a java version, in case you’re not using an S60-powered smartphone to read Symbian-Guru! Hopefully you’ll enjoy this as yet another way to quickly get your Guru Fix!
(If you have your own site, you can get instructions on how to create your own free visual bookmark here)
