Zeemote JS1 Reviewed, Looks Good

Zeemote JS1 Reviewed, Looks Good

We’ve told you about the Zeemote JS1 before, and we’re excited about it. Heck, we hounded their PR people for several weeks trying to get a review unit. Regardless, the folks at Symbian60.mobi have gotten their German hands on a unit already, and put it through its paces. The Zeemote will be bundled with the Nokia N85 through Vodafone in Germany later this year, and there’s word of a special Star Wars Edition, too.

In any case, the JS1 is a small controller that you hold in your hand, and it has a joystick and a couple of buttons. It connects via Bluetooth to your phone, for a killer gaming experience, specifically when used with TV-Out. Currently the Zeemote only works with special games, including special versions of Brick Breaker Revolution, PacMan, Sonic, and others, which will be pre-loaded on the bundled phoned. However, a new application called ZeeKey has also been developed for S60, and will allow the Zeemote to work with N-Gage games, as well as just navigating through the phone’s menus.

You can read Symbian60.mobi’s review (translated from German) here, along with a few live photos of the small joystick. Unfortunately, Zeemote does not currently plan to offer its JS1 as a standalone product, instead opting to offer it only in manufacturer-bundles.

  2. There are numerous links to the source in the post. I was tipped via email that the review is posted at Symbian60.mobi, and that's where we linked to. Not sure what you're concerned about?
  3. Definetely going to check it out if they sell it separately.
