Firmware updates seem to come by waves these days, and apparently we’re on the verge of a new one. Two new firmware updates have been made available for the N95 and the N85.
The N95-1 or N95 classic, has now hit v31.0.014 for some product codes as has been reported by All About Symbian. Even if the update has been made available for a full day now, no one seems to have noticed anything new, except some speed improvements. The firmware probably brings some bug fixes and stabilizes the software a bit more.
The N85 on the other hand has hit v11.047 for some product codes as well. The new firmware fixes a few bugs, most of which are related to key presses and lack of response from the device. But it brings 3 new features: a support for a DVB-H accessory and a 16GB microSDHC card, as well as the “Nokia Software Checker” application. This application has been available on the N79,and makes routine checking for firmware updates a breeze, since you can use it to check over-the-air firmware updates as well as schedule it to check for updates by itself every week for example. A nifty feature, that we hope makes it onto all FP2 devices. The full changelog can be found on Nokia Users.
As always, these firmware updates, although available for a few product codes at first, will start rolling across all the devices. And if you plan to upgarde your firmware, don’t forget to back up your data, because no one knows what might happen.
