You already know I’m a fan of KEYnetik’s Hi-N-Bye application, which uses your phone’s accelerometer to answer and manage incoming phone calls. Their other application, Rock-N-Scroll, also works with your phone’s built-in accelerometer, but allows you to navigate through menus, as well as use gestures and wrist-flicks to press buttons.
The newest version of Rock-N-Scroll was rebuilt from the ground up to provide the most accurate response and best set of features of any similar application out there. There are several different modes, each with different capabilities, and you can easily change modes with a user-configurable hotkey combination.
Here’s a video that KEYnetik put together to show off the new capabilities:
As you can see, it looks pretty sweet. I’ve loaded this new version up on my Nokia N95-3, and it works incredibly well. I really like the new feature that allows you to scroll faster or slower through lists, depending on the angle that you move your phone. This is incredibly handy for someone like me, who has over 1,000 songs on my phone and often need to scroll through long lists like this. It also works great with Google Reader in the S60 web browser, to slowly and steadily scroll through the headlines without having to press any buttons.
This latest version of KEYnetik’s Rock-N-Scroll is available directly from KEYnetik’s website, and they’ve given us a 50% off coupon, for Symbian-Guru readers! When you check out, simply use coupon code ‘LaunchSpecial‘, it’s that easy.
