Merry Themes For Your Christmas Handset

Merry Themes For Your Christmas Handset

Merry Christmas Themes! You know we’re big fans of the great community of themers that S60 has, and as such, we wanted to highlight some of our personal favorites, and hopefully you’ll find a great theme that you can show off on your S60-powered phone for the holidays! We narrowed our list down to four, but have included some other links at the bottom, of the runners up.

My personal favorite, and the one that’s currently being shown on my Nokia 5800 XpressMusic and E71 is from PiZero, called Winter Fun. I like this one because it’s wintery, but not necessarily a specific holiday, which means that I can use it beyond Christmas, into the new year. I also like that there are three versions: default icons, PiZero’s custom icons, and the Flahorn icons. The default version looks great on my 5800 XpressMusic and the N95-3, while the Flahorn icons save my E71 from its own internal ugliness.

Next up is Silent Night, by Jendell. I really love the background on this one, and the combination of red and yellow colors that he used. Unfortunately, there’s no default icon pack, or Flahorn, so you have to use Jendell’s custom icon pack. It’s not that his icons aren’t nice (they are, and he’s done quite a few 3rd party apps, as well, which is nice), but my personal preference is for the default or Flahorn icons.

A much more Christmas-y theme is from Rugge, with his X-mas theme. This one features 100% SVG graphics, as well as over 400 3rd party application icons, if you’re into the custom icons. He’s also thankfully included a default icon version, as well as the OSI icon pack, which is nice.

Last, but most certainly not least, is the well-known BabiNokia, bringing us Christmas Night. Despite the name, Christmas Night is also one that you could use beyond the holidays, with its fun snowflake background and simple colors. You also have the option of BabiNokia’s custom icons, or the default set, with this theme.

If you don’t like any of those, here’s a few more you can check out, as well. The Snowman, by Udeste, looks very nice, and…orangey. Another excellent choice, specifically if you have the red 5800 XpressMusic, is Red Christmas, by Blue_Ray. BabiNokia also has another fun one, called Twenty Five. This one also has a selection of transparent wallpapers, so you can personalize it, or keep the plain-jane version. Very nice. For a bit of a darker side, you should also check out Crisis of New Year, by Shilca.

There you have a large selection of holiday themes! Have you found any others that you’d like to share? Let us know, we’ll check them out!
