Over the last couple of days, we’ve had a series of N-Gage related news, so instead of making separate posts for each of these, we decided to cram them all in one single post. So here goes.
Boom Blox Is Released
A new game has hit N-Gage yesterday, it’s Electronic Arts’ Boom Blox. “Go head-to-head with Spielberg’s BOOM BLOX! Slide on ice blocks, blast blocks with bombs, and bounce off springs to solve brain-twisting puzzles and level the playing field. Enjoy non-stop fun as you advance through forty levels and reach your target score. Master the in-game puzzles then design your own custom creations with the level editor. Blast ‘em with BOOM BLOX!” The game is now available in your N-Gage app’s showroom, so go check it out.
Metal Gear Solid soon to be released
During Nokia World, Ricky had a play with Metal Gear Solid mobile on N-Gage, an action and stealth game that a lot of N-Gagers are waiting for. The game is still set as “Coming soon” on the N-Gage website, but we’ve been told that “soon” will be pretty soon.
Resident Evil : Degeneration trailer
The Resident Evil trailer has been made public by the N-Gage blog under the name of a “mystery trailer”, but everyone seems to acknowledge that it is Resident Evil. Seems like it to me as well, here it is, tell me what you think:
HOT: N97 And N-Gage
Nokia Conversations caught up with Jaakko Kaidesoja, Nokia’s Vice President of Games, and asked him about the N97, and the version of N-Gage that will run on it. Topics discussed are the availability of N-Gage for the widescreen and the touchscreen of the N97, as well as the different types of interaction that are available for the user: touch, physical keyboard and accelerometer. Sounds very interesting, and here’s the video:
The Future of N-Gage
Another video from Nokia Conversations and Jaakko, this time talking about the future of N-Gage. Jaakko discusses context-related games, ie games that use the camera or the location or the music. He makes a good point by saying that the games have to make sense for the player, and that putting context-awareness where not needed isn’t such a good idea. Here’s the video for the full rundown:
