We alerted you to the pre-order options from both Amazon.com and Nokiausa.com a while back for the North American version of the N85, which features tri-band 3G (850/1900/2100MHz). At that time, we were unsure of a shipping date for this awesome smartphone, but now, we’ve gotten confirmation from at least 3 readers saying that they were informed via email that their N85 NAM has shipped.
The NAM version includes a U.S. warranty, providing coverage in case there is a manufacturing defect within the first 12 months that you own the phone. It also, as mentioned, includes tri-band 3G, including the 850/1900MHz 3G frequencies used by AT&T here in the United States! Amazon still lists the pre-order price at $555.99, with Nokiausa.com asking for $502 to get one of the first units. The Amazon page, which used to specify that it was a pre-order, is now saying that the N85 NAM ‘usually ships within 2-4 weeks’, which is likely enough time for them to replenish their supplies. The Nokia USA site also lists the phone as ‘In Stock’ if you add it to your cart.
If you’ve been holding out for true NAM 3G on AT&T’s network, it sure looks like the time is now for the Nokia N85.
UPDATE: We’ve confirmed with Nokia directly that the NAM model is, indeed, shipping. Hoo-RAH! We’ve also confirmed that the Nokia Flagship Store in Chicago has received its first shipment of N85 NAMs, and has them priced at $552. They are not currently matching the $50 off coupon found at NokiaUSA.com.
