Well, I’m here in Barcelona, Spain, ready to rock and roll for Nokia World 2008, which kicks off tomorrow. I’ve had a chance already to meet several cool people, and I’ve been able to do a little bit of sightseeing, as well. However, the big news, as you already know, is that something is being announced tomorrow morning, around 920-945a CET (depending on the speech timing). We haven’t a clue exactly what it is, whether S40, S60, Nseries, or Eseries, but we were told (rather proudly) that it hasn’t been leaked – yet.
Ponder that for a minute. With all of the latest leaks from Nokia, there has been and is a device that has not been mentioned or leaked or anything, anywhere. Even inside Nokia, employees working on this secret project have not been allowed to send images of it through email or anywhere else, and each team working on it only knows a limited amount of information about what the other teams are working. It’s really mind-blowing, and something I hope that Nokia stretches across other devices soon.
What do you think? Do you enjoy reading about leaks and knowing what’s coming before it comes, or do you think it’s far more fun and exciting to be surprised, completely? I have to confess, while it’s fun to be ‘in the know’, it’s far more fun to be completely surprised by something.
Also, I’ll be liveblogging the Nokia World 2008 Keynote speech here at Symbian-Guru, using a new service that I’ve found, so you definitely will want to tune in here to get the live feed of what’s happening. Also don’t forget, all of my photos and videos will be posted on our Nokia World 2008 page, which you can find here.
