Nokia E71x For AT&T Shows Up On Ebay
Well well well, what have we here? You recall that AT&T branded E71x that we posted about back in November? Well, it’s now available on Ebay. Yes, that’s right, thanks to E71blog.com for the heads up, there’s a seller on Ebay who is located in Grand Prairie, Texas, offering up an AT&T branded E71x for the bargain price of $275 (as of this posting). The E71x is supposedly AT&T’s branded variant of the E71 NAM, with dual-band 3G (850/1900MHz) for AT&T’s HSDPA network.
We don’t have any details as to the possible limitations of AT&T firmware, but since there is already an unbranded NAM variant available, it shouldnt’ be too difficult to unbrand this one, if it ever comes out.
As Eduardo at E71blog.com points out, though, this sort of thing usually means one of two things – either the phone was cancelled, or it’s going to be launched any day now. Given the current retail price of the unlocked E71 NAM is $370 at Amazon, I would expect this to go for around $150 on AT&T, after rebates and 2-year contract.
**Just to be clear, we definitely do NOT recommend purchasing this phone from the Ebay seller. There’s a high liklihood that it’s a prototype model, which means that it’s illegal for anyone other than Nokia to own it. Given that it’s not announced officially, it’s also likely stolen property, and thus, again, illegal to own.**

I REALLY hope that this means we're going to see it at AT&T any day. For 150 or less, I don't really care- I'll be the first jerk in line to buy (and de-brand) a branded E71. I think I'm due an upgrade with AT&T... from like 8 years ago when I last bought a handset from those jokers.
