Today at the 2009 Mobile World Congress, Nokia has announced the E75 Eseries slider. This new smartphone comes in a candybar form factor, with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, which fortunately features the same predictive text that the E71 does. The E75 thin, measuring only 14.4mm (.6in) thick, and is powered by S60 3rd Edition, Feature Pack 2.
The Nokia E75 has a 3.2 megapixel autofocus camera with LED flash and a dedicated camera key that *finally* reportedly activates the camera application, in addition to snapping your photos. Video recording is VGA-quality at up to 15 frames per second, like other Eseries devices, but there is a standard 3.5mm audio port, thankfully.
The Nokia E75 comes with 60 days of Files on Ovi, as well as a lifetime ‘subscription’ to Nokia Messaging, and a new version of the Nokia Email client that supports HTML email. The phone also supports N-Gage, which is stinkin awesome, and the d-pad doubles as a Naviwheel, which makes it easy to scroll through long lists. The best part is that the E75 features quad-band GSM (850/900/1800/1900MHz) and tri-band 3G (900/1900/2100MHz or 850/1900/2100MHz), showing that Nokia is finally getting the hang of this tri-band 3G thing. You’ll also find HSDPA+HSUPA for faster upload speeds, and WiFi as well.
The Nokia E75 is expected to be available in black, red, or copper in March 2009, with the NAM variant following ‘shortly’ thereafter (we’ll see). Pricing is set at 375 EUR (US$479), which isn’t bad, considering. I know for a fact that I’ll be picking one up to replace my E71 asap. What about you?
