This morning, Nokia announced the 6720 Classic, a followup to the 6220 Classic that was announced last year. The 6720 Classic features the same familiar candybar form factor, with the itty-bitty S60 and C buttons, nestled in between the end/send and softkeys. You can see around back, also, that while the 6720 Classic maintains the 5 megapixel autofocus camera, it unfortunately has a dual-LED flash, and an ugly one, at that! I don’t mean to hate on dual-LED. In fact, if you’re a regular reader, you’ll know that I actually prefer it, but since the 6220 Classic already had Xenon, this just seems like a step backwards to me.
In any case, other specs on the 6720 Classic include a slightly curved design, to better fit your face, and a new chestnut brown color scheme that I really like. The phone packs in quad-band GSM (850/900/1800/1900MHz) and tri-band 3G (900/1900/2100MHz or 850/1900/2100MHz) and HSPA for super-fast upload and download speeds. WiFi is not on board, but it does have a built-in GPS receiver, which is nice.
The phone also includes a standard 3.5mm audio port with TV-Out, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, and support for N-Gage. Honestly, I can’t really see what this 6720 Classic features that the 6220 Classic didn’t, aside from a dual-LED flash instead of a Xenon one. Here’s the official specs list below:
