Well look what we have here! The Nokia E75, another highly leaked Nokia handset has showed up on the UK and French Expansys websites, with an official picture, more juicy information, and a price tag to keep it all real.
What we already know about the E75 is confirmed with the T9/Qwerty horizontal slider form factor. It will be a Quad-Band GSM handset with Dual-Band HSDPA, WiFi, A-GPS, Bluetooth, FM Radio. The screen is the usual 320×240 QVGA from Nokia, and the camera will be a 3.2MP with LED flash, which we hope will perform better than the one on the E71. The E75 will support the dual-mode home switching like the E71, E66 and E63, and it will have the Nokia Music Store as well as Nokia Maps and Nokia Podcasting. It will also come with a 3.5mm headset plug.
One notable difference from the previous leaked specs is that the Nokia E75 won’t come with a 1050 mAh battery but with the BP-4L battery, which is the same as the E71 and E90, a 1500 mAh battery. This means that it will be ready to rock several days on one charge for average users! Also worth mentioning is that the headset provided with the E75 will be the HS-47, an awful headset. It’s a shame that Nokia have stepped up with the Eseries recently, giving them the 3.5mm headset plug, but they still can’t give a decent music headset in the box.
A few things that puzzle me personally are the video specs that state that the E75 will be able to record video at VGA andvideo at 30fps QVGA. Does it mean that it will be limited to 15fps at VGA resolution, and 30fps at QVGA resolution? I hope not. Another thing I noticed is that the device is shown with the regular grey icons that we despise here on Symbian-Guru whereas the leaks hinted at the new touch icons from Nokia. Let’s hope that this is not the case.
The UK Expansys site has the Nokia E75 set to release on March the 13th with a retail price of £389.99, whereas the French Expansys site has the Nokia E75 set to release on February the 13th with a retail price of €474.99. We’ll bet on the UK website being right about the release date.
