Thomas, a Symbian-Guru.com reader, has tipped us off that the team at Moubail.com have put together a cool widget for the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic called Checkers. As you might have guessed, this widget allows you to play checkers on your phone, simple as that. It’s interesting, though, that this is a widget, and not a native S60 app, or even a Python or Java app, but a simple widget.
The code is based off a previous version written by Kurt Grigg, which you can check out here. The game is simple enough, if you’re familiar with checkers. You can play in either landscape or portrait modes, and the latest version even supports vibration feedback, for a more exciting gameplay.
The game is free to download, though there’s also a donation link, in case you really like it and want to support the development. You can get it straight from Moubail.com here.
If you find something cool for your phone, you can either let everyone know about it in the Symbian-Guru.com Forum, or you can use this handy form to send us a link, and we’ll check it out! Thanks, Thomas!
