So you’re a Twitter user, and you have a new Nokia 5800 XpressMusic. You probably already know about Dabr.co.uk, but that’s not doing it for you, for whatever reason. Enter, Stew. This widget for the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic lets you view your Twitter stream, as well as post updates, right from your phone! Stew was written as an S60 widget, and is able to update over WiFi or a cellular network. As you can see in the video below, the interface features large, finger-friendly buttons, which make it easy to use on the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic.
Unfortunately, Stew’s functionality is limited to reading updates and posting new ones. You cannot click to reply to a contact, nor can you follow any links that your friends might have posted. I don’t know if this is a limitation in Stew or a limitation in the S60 widget implementation, but either way, it certainly limits the usefulness of Stew. It certainly looks alot better than other options, such as Dabr.co.uk, though.
You can download Stew here, and thanks to SymbianFrance.com for the heads up. You can follow Symbian-Guru.com on Twitter here, and if you’ve got an S60 3rd Edition smartphone, such as the Nokia N95, or the Samsung i8510, be sure to come back tomorrow to get a demo of another new, and much more promising native S60 Twitter application that I’ve been beta testing.
