I agree, … If you find one that meets all your requirements, please let me know… I, for one, does not think it is unreasonable..

I agree that the default S60 3rd music player lacks some features.

Feature request: Browse by file system.
First of all, I also hate those library things. As you already mentioned, it’s quite annoying that you have to update that library in order to play a file you have freshly copied to the phone.
Ok, browsing music by album, artist and so on is a nice feature, but I’m more like a folder browsing guy.
It is also annoying that you can’t exclude certain folders from the search (or select the ones to search in the first place). I don’t want to see my ringing tones in my music player (you can hide these files though).

Feature request: Jump to position in file.
If you listen to long audio files – for example DJ mixes or audio books – you might like to jump to a certain position in it rather than searching the file by fast forwarding.

Feature request: Remember position in file.
Similar to the previous request: If you listen to long files, you might want to resume listening where you stopped last time. This feature exists if you mark a file as “podcast” but the handling is cumberome.

Maybe someone will make a nice player some day. :)

all the irellevant requirements! what happened to the importance of the quality of sound?! my ideal player would have to have an accurate eq, that can handle wide range of frequencies and iRiver like 3d effects. that's the problem with children today, they like to watch everything, even music.

I would also add one more wish: I need to delete a song at the touch of a button, and then when the player syncs, it should delete the song from my music collection. Typically the songs that I put on my player are 'shovel ware', which means that I put everything that exists on a CD. Then I listen to those songs, and that is the time I judge if I like a song. If I don't (as is going to be the case for about 60% of songs I copy), I should be able to delete it then and there. This will progressively clean up my collection and keep only songs that I like. So, if someone is listening, please implement this feature too.

For playing folders you can download folderplay: http://sourceforge.net/projects/folderplay/
Nothing fancy, but it does what it says; it plays folders.
