Nokia was kind enough to send me a blue Nokia E63 NAM recently. This seemingly ‘dumbed-down’ version of the Nokia E71 looks as nice as its older, more featured brother, but is built of high-quality plastic instead of metal, and features a slightly redesigned keypad. The E63 is thicker than the E71, and also got cursed with a 2 megapixel camera, rather than the 3.2 megapixel autofocus cam of the E71.
The E63 claims a few milestones of its own, though. It’s the first Eseries to feature a standard 3.5mm audio port, so that you can use your regular headphones with it, and it’s also the first Eseries to feature a built-in flashlight, without needing any 3rd party applications. Here’s the unboxing video, tune in later this week for some thoughts on this peculiar smartphone, specifically in comparison with the Nokia E71.
