A few weeks ago, Ricky brought to you a preview of Gravity by MobileWays.de, the new native S60 Twitter client that was only available as a closed beta, and I followed up with a second look at the client with a detailed video walkthrough. Many of you were impressed by the application, its slick interface and numerous features, and asked how you could get it on your device. Well, the wait is now over, as Gravity has gone public.
Gravity has added a ton of new features since I last made my video walkthrough. Of course the multiple Twitter and identi.ca account support is still there, as well as the auto-update, tweet, reply, send direct messages,… but the new features are even more impressive. The first one was the addition of Twitpic, allowing you to easily browse through the images on your device, pick one of them and upload it to Twitpic with a comment. The second one is the ability to follow all the links if a tweet contains many links, the addition of add/remove from favorites, and two themes supported: dark and bright. The main improvement is in user management: you can see your friends (color coded by the ones who follow you back and the ones who don’t), your followers (color coded by the ones you follow back and the ones you don’t), you can also easily follow/unfollow users, browse all tweets by your friends or by any other public twitterer, or even browse their tweets + the @replies they receive. If a tweet contains a #hashtag, you can also browse all tweets from all users containing that hashtag.
The best part of it all is that Gravity has added support to S60 v5 with the inclusion of kinetic scrolling, so if you own a Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, you can get the application on your device and experience the awesome feeling of flicking your finger on the screen to see the tweets scroll by quickly.
Gravity is available as a free 10 day trial from MobileWays.de, after which you could buy it for €7.80 . If you’re a Twitter junkie or just a casual user, we highly recommend you to check it out, if only to experience the sleekest interface on any application released for S60.
