Comments on: N79 Vs N85 – Battle Of The Mid-Range

Using N79 for a week. it endured 4 days until i was able to froze it… which is a victory of the N79 over me.
Normally it takes me less than 24h.

No bugs found everything just works.
Custom applications as Garmin Mobile and Google Maps work perfectly. WLAN also works without any problems.

And the best thing is that I bought it second hand for about 50 euros! :lol:

I have also been reviewing the mobiles to replace my older N73 ME. I'm making choice between N79 and E72. But I found that N79 has average picture quality in 5MP camera phones. my main concern is music playback, very good image quality and a reliable battery life. But some reviews on the web doubted my mind in picture quality aspect.
Has anyone bought this phone? Can you please clear my mind if this is not the case as i have mentioned above.

i bought N 79, it's a good phone…but sometimes it kinda gets hanged or a few applications are not applied…and one another major problem with my set is that it's fm transmitter now is making too much distortion…when i bought it it was ok with the transmitter but after like 1 week it has started distortions…why so? has it's fm transmitter gone out of order or what? can someone help me plz…thanks…

I was confused in making the decision to buy a better phone. N79 or N85.
After reading your review I felt like you really used the phone and N85 frustrated you in day to day activity. You erased my confusion totally. Now I am also sure and will go with N79.

I’m still pondering which one to get. Well that’s not true. I ordered the N79, but it’s “on backorder”, meaning that Nokia hasn’t decided whether to send me it yet. So I’m tempted to cancel the order and get the N85, not for the OLED, not for the 8GB SD card, and not because of the slider (in fact maybe despite the slider). There’s one reason why the N85 comes out ahead, and that’s the fact that the NAM version as far as I can tell, runs on the UK’s 2100 3G network (I spend a fair amount of time there when not in the US), and the N79 doesn’t. Could I learn to love the slider for those moments when I needed the 3G in the UK?
