YouTube has been offering a mobile interface to access its video database for a while now, as well as a mobile application that was basically a hit-and-miss depending on the devices. The issue with the mobile website was that it couldn’t play the video, and you had to open it in RealPlayer and wait for it to stream over there. This situation seems to have been fixed recently, because now you can watch the videos directly in the web browser on devices that support flash.
If you want to get on the YouTube action, simply point your web browser to http://m.youtube.com and search for the videos that you want. When you open the video page, you should be instantly greeted with the flash based video, and it’ll start playing inside the web page. Simply click on the video once, and that’ll open another page with the video playing in fullscreen, with no more need to go over to RealPlayer.

If you like the RealPlayer interface better or if you are stuck with the non-flash interface, look for the “Switch to standard video player” or “Switch to flash video player (beta)” links right below the video in the main video page. They should allow to switch back and forth between both versions of the mobile YouTube site. Now if you’ll excuse me, some Jeff Dunham and Peanut action is due.
