Mobbler, one of my favorite S60 applications ever, has gotten a huge update – from v0.3.5 to v0.4.4! This new version, which has been in closed beta for a few weeks now, features new high-quality graphics for the various buttons, and also introduces higher quality album art. This new version also brings in some new features for the left direction, allowing you to share the track with your friends or add it to a playlist.
Mobbler now also supports gestures for S60 3rd Edition devices that have an accelerometer built in. Currently, you can flick your device to the right to change the track, which is quite a nice little extra. If you give this a shot, be sure to head over to the Mobbler homepage to give the team feedback, as I’m sure they’re interested in introducing more gesture features.
Also, the team is working to get Mobbler Symbian Signed, and needs your help. If you enjoy Mobbler, be sure to head over to donate to the cause. Once the application is Symbian Signed, the team can add a few new features, and also get it listed in the upcoming Ovi Store, which would be awesome.
If you already have an earlier version of Mobbler installed, you can simply load it up on your phone, then go to Tools – Check for updates to automatically download the new version and install it. If you don’t have Mobbler yet, you can head over to their homepage to get it.
