Nokia’s Eseries phones definitely do a much better job than the Nseries at shipping quickly after their official announcement, and the Nokia E75 is no exception. The phone was only just announced at Mobile World Congress and is already shipping! The E75, if you don’t recall, is a candybar smartphone powered by S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 2 that sports a standard numeric keypad, with the added convenience of a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. Reportedly, this is only the Euro 3G variant that is shipping, with the NAM variant to follow soon.
The Nokia E75 packs in a 3.2 megapixel camera with single LED flash that pulls double-duty as a video light, and has predictive text input on both the numeric and QWERTY keyboards. The phone is the first S60 to have Nokia Messaging completely replace the built-in email client, and also merges Nokia’s Mail4Exchange into this application. N-Gage is also supported, and the E75 features homescreen integration of Ovi Chat, which is definitely nice.
You can check out our ongoing review of the Nokia E75 here. The final parts will be published soon, as we confirmed that our unit had preproduction firmware, and are working to get final firmware installed before finishing the review.
