Last week we mentioned that the Samsung Omnia got an official namechange. It seems however that they once again have had a change of mind.
The handset will be known as the i8910, Omnia HD and even i8910 HD in some markets. Find that confusing? One can only speculate on why they would announce something like that and then swiftly after change their minds. The handset however has been promoted as the Omnia HD in Italy along with the new upcoming X-men Movie.
The final details on what the phone will be called in which countries is still unknown, but this will surely prove hard to them to keep their exclusivity of the Omnia brand for their Windows Mobile devices. This is not the first time that a manufacturer has released a phone in different markets under different names. However in most cases it has been due to differences in terms of hardware such as antennas. Is this simply a branding issue or does it hide something more beneath?
