We’ve covered different Twitter applications for S60 phones such as Twittix, Stew, and Gravity with the latter being Ricky’s and Rita’s favorites. When I first tried it, however, I wasn’t impressed, as there was no auto update time you could set. This was one of my main arguments for still sticking with Twittix.
Now, it seems as the tables have been turned for the better for Gravity with the release of version 1.17. You can now set the auto update time for not just for your timeline, but also for replies, direct messages, favorites and even the search tab, one of my missing features. Customization of notifications is also nice and support for picture upload directly from your phone. While trying that, I was mysteriously only able to see a couple of the pictures stored in my phone, while I actually have nearly 100’s.
What I don’t like is that Gravity doesn’t have support for the theme you are currently using, meaning that the application follows its own theme where you can only choose two, one bright and one dark. That is of course just a matter of personal taste.
All in all, Gravity does enrich your twitter experience in several ways on your S60 phone, so it won’t hurt to try it. You can get the latest update by visiting Mobileways or use the auto-update feature on the application itself if you already have it installed.
