A new Nokia handset of the E-series was just showcased recently. The form factor of the handset is the traditional candybar, with the E-series keys such as home, email, calendar and delete/back key in their regular places. With a slim design and weight at only 98g, it also is a workhorse with up to 8 hours of talktime, 23 days of standby time, support for Mobile VPN, where you can connect securely to your workplace, support for Nokia Messaging, Mail for Exchange and IBM Lotus Notes Traveler.
Should you not have WiFi access, the E52 have the newer HSDPA which gives you download speeds up to 10.2 Mbps and HSUPA which gives you upload speed up to 2 Mbps. New is that it has a compass in addition to the inbuilt A-GPS with Nokia Maps and support for charging over USB. Other features include a 3.2 megapixel camera, hopefully optimized like on the E75, 3.5 mm audio jack, 2.4-inch QVGA (240x320 pixels) resolution display, plus quality features you would expect from any E-series handset from Nokia.
The handset is said to available in just metal grey and golden aluminum, but as we have seen before, Nokia is very happy to release their handsets a couple of months later with a black version. The newly announced E52 is of no exception.
Internal memory is up to 60 Mb, expandable with microSD cards, where a 1GB memory card is included in the box. Pricing is set at an estimated price of €245 (US$326) before taxes and subsidies, and it sure does look like an interesting device. See below for some close up of the E52 hands on and enjoy the funky music.
