When Spore Origins launched on PC, it was a huge deal, and even moreso when the iPhone got it. Today, we’re pleased to let you know that the title has now launched on Nokia’s N-Gage gaming platform, which is available on most newer Nseries, as well as a few other XpressMusic and Eseries smartphones. Spore Origins is a weird game where you create this….blob, and progress it through various levels. The demo appears to start you on Level 3, though clearly in the full version you would begin at Level 1.
As Wampyre shows us here, N-Gage points seem to be easily achievable, as you get points for completing the different levels, upgrading your organism, winning an amount of games in a row, and avoid getting bitten by larger creatures. He found that his creature was a bit slow to escape from the monsters and that the control was not very good. He doesn’t know if that was done with intent as you probably will get to improve your creature during the game play to gain more speed, defense etc., but sadly he’s a bit disappointed.
Currently, the game is only downloadable through the N-Gage on-device showroom. If it is not showing up for you, simply press Options, Refresh Showroom and it should be available. Norman at SymbianWorld.org is reporting that the game is priced at 6 GBP, and takes up 3MB of storage space. Here’s a video of the game in action:
