You remember our friend Tehk7, right? He is the author of the fantastic N86 theme (now called Prestige), and has put together a few more themes, which you can check out at his website, here. Tehk7 started out using the S60 Touch icons that I love so much on all his themes, but is now branching out, having created his own custom icon pack, called Seven. Normally, I don’t care for custom icon packs, but Seven is incredibly well done. You can see a sample below:
As you can see, each icon has a nice glass effect, making it stand out. What I like about the Seven icon pack is that it’s close to the default S60 icons, so that you don’t get confused as to what icon is what, but it’s new enough to give a fresh look to things. Tehk has also released his new Enterprise theme, with both S60 Touch icons and his new Seven icons, and it looks rather professional, if you need a more serious theme for your phone.
Rather than pump out dozens of different themes, Tehk has decided to focus on a limited number of backgrounds, and release several versions with different highlights. One of the upcoming versions is called Prestige Light Dawn, with a soft pink highlight that I think the ladies will find quite nice. It’s certainly the type of theme I could see Darla Mack sporting!
One thing that Tehk has become known for is his attention to detail, specifically on the Eseries phones. His themes are some of the few that properly theme the email icons on the homescreen, and he typically includes support for hundreds of 3rd party applications. To continue this, he’s asking for users to let him know what applications they would like to see themed in upcoming releases. There are a few that he knows aren’t possible, such as Gmail and Opera Mini, but anything else is fair game. You can let him know your requests here.
