Our friends at iUnlock.com have gotten ahold of a prototype Nokia E72 and took the liberty of dismantling the newly announced smartphone. The Nokia E72 was only just announced on Monday, and is a solid replacement for the E71. The E72 maintains the same candybar QWERTY form factor, along with the 2.4-inch QVGA (240×320 pixels) resolution display, but brings an updated 5 megapixel camera, 3.5mm audio port, and S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 2 user interface.
As you can see in the photos, the Nokia E72 is roughly the same size as the E71, but also features a redesigned keyboard, similar to that on the E63, and a new navigational cluster. Adam from iUnlock.com is standing by in the Symbian-Guru Forum, ready to answer any questions you might have about this new phone. Keep in mind it is a prototype, which means that there is a long ways to go before the software is final – that means speed tests and that sort of thing are not going to be accurate reflections on what the final product will do.
