Today, there are changes afoot at the Nokia Conversations blog. If you don’t already know, Nokia Conversations is Nokia’s official public blog. While they sporadically announce new devices there, the site is mostly focused on simply being an external face for Nokia. The site was started by Charlie Schick, of Nokia Lifeblog fame, and has been run successfully by Charlie, James, and a few other really cool folks that I’ve been honored to meet on more than one occasion.
However, today, Charlie announces that he’ll be stepping down from his position, off to explore new adventures. I’ve had the chance to hang out with and chat with Charlie several times over the past few years, and he’s definitely one intelligent dude. While that’s clearly a sad day, especially as much as Charlie has done at Nokia, there is a silver lining. The only person I could have imagined to properly fill Charlie’s shoes will indeed be stepping in. Phil Schwarzmann will be taking over for Charlie in the coming weeks and months, continuing to build Nokia Conversations as an awesome resource for bloggers and consumers alike.

Phil is most certainly no stranger to Symbian/S60 fans. This is the same Phil who brought us the S60 Blogs, and introduced the Voice of S60 Podcast that even I was featured on – twice. While the S60 Blogs have been shut down, effectively, to make room for the Symbian Foundation, Phil will no doubt do an awesome job with the reins at Nokia Conversations. I personally have my fingers crossed that his first priority will be to come up with a new podcast series.
I’m honored to call both of these guys friends, and definitely wish them both great success in the future.
