From the same developers behind the MemoryUp Pro, Memory and Ram Optimizer, eMobiStudio yet again releases an application which seems to do wonders for your phone. Going down the same route as their other product, it is a Java application with the promises to speed up your network access, whether you are connected to HSDPA, 3G, Edge or WiFi. Can this application win over the hearts of its users or is this application a bad apple? We’ve installed NetworkAcc to our phone to let you know.
Being a Java application usually means that file size is small and in this case both file size and install size is around 100 kb. You’re not going to waste much space by installing this application, in other words. Installation asks you for the usual phone access and whether you want to install on phone memory or memory card. For best performance of Java applications and games it is recommended to install in phone memory.
Application in use
When launching the application you use the D-pad to navigate through the options. Press the center D-pad to bring up choices within and option and again to confirm. The left softkey is used to bring up the option to accelerate your connection and to hide it and the sole purpose of the right softkey is to exit the application. The first option is to choose the appropriate version of Symbian you are running on your handset. Here you have the choices of choosing between 5 versions of the Symbian operating system so basically no Symbian phones are left out. Next up is to choose the carrier, with the choices of 9 different predefined ones, such as AT&T, Orange, T-Mobile, Sprint and Verizon just to name some few. Third option is the connection type you want to accelerate. Connection types you can choose from ranges from the higher speed Wifi connection to the lowest data speeds offered by the network operators being GPRS. The last option is called ‘Shift Accelerator Gears’, in which value you can max up to 5 by using the right and left on the D-pad. Once set up just press the left softkey and choose ‘Accelerate’ simple as that. The application takes care of the rest.
Final conclusion
A very neat detail is that you have the option called ‘Other’ as choice for the different options. This comes in really handy if you e.g. don’t know the version of Symbian your phone is running on or like me your carrier is not listed. Using the application I tried to accelerate my WiFi connection and went into the advanced settings for Wireless LAN on the my phone to see if the settings were changed there. No evident changes in the values so the application does not modify those settings. However trying to download a file I saw significant increase in download. How this happened is quite magical but the application does indeed work. As my carrier have capped download speeds via HSDPA I wouldn’t be able to accelerate this connection to verify increase in speed. I do have my doubts that this application can have a placebo effect (since I’m always skeptical) but independent reviews from customers buying this application from the Symbian-Guru Store, makes me doubt my own doubt and I will give this application my recommendation. Having reviewed MemoryUp Professional previously I do known that products from eMobiStudio can do wonders.
You can try the application for yourself by downloading it from the Symbian-Guru Store and if you like it you can purchase it. We also have a offer on purchase of MemoryUp Pro together with NetworkAcc for only $21.58. Have you tried this application yourself and how good was it?
