The Nokia N97 only just started shipping today, but there are already videos and reviews popping up all over the place. N97Geeks worked with Axel from Blog-N97.fr to bring us a full review of the Nokia N97, complete with plenty of photos. This is a comprehensive review, going over every feature, as well as listing out some of the default applications that come installed, which I found rather interesting. You can read the full review in French here, or in English here.
Also, All About Symbian alerted us that a Chinese site has put together a few videos showing off various features of the Nokia N97, including the as-yet-unseen N-Gage application. You can watch the video below, but there are a few key things to point out. For starters, it doesn’t appear as though you’ll enjoy fullscreen gaming on the N97. It looks as though the games are framed with black bars on either side, with the gaming shown in a simulated 4:3 landscape orientation. While this seems lame, it likely will also mean that a larger library of games are available at launch, which is obviously a good thing. It’s unclear whether or not touch is supported, but with the d-pad and keyboard layout on the N97, I’m not real sure why you would want touch support, anyways.
What do you think? I’m pretty pumped about the Nokia N97 coming out, and can’t wait to get my hands on one to play with for real.
