Brace yourself because this will be one heavy post! Since I have the Nokia N97 in white and the Nokia N86 in dark grey, I thought I’d do a picture gallery of both devices, because y’know a picture is worth a thousand words and all (more likely because I’m a big show off and I want to brag in front of the whole world, but my psychological issues aren’t to be discussed here) then it suddenly hit me to go retro style and do it all in Black and White. Some of you might find it odd to do a gallery of ultra new handsets in an oldie style, but wait until you see the images, then you can judge.
The N97 and N86 are the first two devices in the Nseries line-up that are really well-built. We’ve had cheap plastics, shiny elements and flacky build quality on Nseries for a long time, and finally someone stepped up the game and brought Nseries to the premium design and material that they deserve. Both devices are heavy and give an impression of class when you look at them. Hold them, and you’ll feel the nice grip on the back cover, the great front glass panel to prevent screen scratches, the slightly rubberized feel of the keys and the awesome metallic silver rim on the edge. High quality material like that deserves high quality photography, so here is the gallery of all 61 photos, featuring each of the two devices alone, then both of them together, in all possible and imaginable angles (click on any image to be taken to the full 12MP goodness).
WARNING: Get a tissue, because this is seriously heavy drool material!
One thing I want to note is that I really love how the keys and the d-pad on the N86 look in some of the pictures. You can see that they are clearly raised and easy to press, as opposed to the flat keys of its older brother, the N85. You can also notice how the tilting angle of the N97′s screen is very similar to the angle at which the N86 stands when the kickstand is popped in this image.
What are your favorite pictures from this collection? My personal absolute favorite has to be a tie between this one and this one. Did any of these images make you want one of the two devices right now? What do you think of the new design language on Nseries, compared to the older models?

Nice pictures… :-)
N86 has a much nicer feel to it than the N85. Lovely phone.
