Now we all like to bash Nokia on something, whether it’s the hardware of their handset such as on the Nokia N85 or on the software side such as Nokia Messaging. We are never satisfied with Nokia.
Being one of the world’s biggest manufacturer of Symbian-powered handsets and “dumb phones” it’s good to see that the latest report from Greenpeace reveals that Nokia gets a top score in terms of environmental friendliness.
In short the report states that Nokia is one of the better manufacturers when it comes to less use of harmful chemicals in their products and excellent when it comes to take-backs where these are offered as well as voluntarily. Taking into account that they’ve also taken initiatives such as Nokia Green Explorer and we: offset they’ve also brought us nice devices such as the N86 and N97 with excellent build quality.
You can head over to this link (PDF) to read the report for yourself. Now I can really be a proud owner of a Nokia or what do you think?
