In addition to the bevy of firmware updates released recently by Nokia, it looks like some of the Eseries have also received a little firmware love, though notably not the NAM variants. The Nokia E71 and E66 have both been updated to firmware v300.21.012, and the little brother, the E63, wasn’t forgotten, either, with a new v200.21.012 firmware available for Euro variants. You’ll need to use Nokia’s Software Update application to get these new firmwares, and keep in mind that neither the E71, E66, nor the E63 feature UDP (User Data Preservation), which means you’ll want to backup any critical information before you apply the update.
The new E71/E66 firmware apparently finally fixes the camera issue, where there was a purple/blue tint on all the photos, and includes a handful of other fun updates. Beware, though, if you’re one to ‘hack’ your phone, as this update currently blocks any hacking attempts. If you don’t care about that, then update on!
We’ll be anxiously awaiting the NAM variants of these firmwares to make an appearance, though I’m not holding my breath, based on past experiences.
