    Hi there,

coming from Germany: is there a reason why no Youtube download is offered at Google Mobile for my N97?

    No issues with Maps. Strange.

Google doesn’t recognize Nokia E75, and doesn’t give the option to download. Last time I’ve downloaded with E51, but I don’t have one new. How do I go around this problem?

Hmmm … Installed both, and both force me to use packet connection, even when WiFi is available. Choosing “Change connection” gives me a “System error”. Haven’t had this issue with the old version of Maps.

Woody, you have to change your country to USA when you open Google.com on your mobile, then you’ll get all of Google’s services, and you can download Gmail, YouTube, GMaps.

So far the perfect YouTube program by all means is Mobitubia as it allows you to download the clips for offline viewing . I can`t understand why Google does not implement a log in system – it could not be that hard since lastfm does it – even if it is about music there rather than video. The possibility to leave comments and manage your collection right from your phone will make YouTube even more social and I don`t know why Google delays that

I loaded Google Maps yesterday. It is faster than Ovi Maps in almost all respects, but on a Nokia there are some distinct advantages of Ovi Maps as compared to Google Maps. Here’s what I found:

    1. You cannot scroll through Google Maps, click on a point and get a choice to save the location or driving directions to that point. To do either you have to search to see the point and then you can save or get directions.

    2. If you have Near Here by Stargon (awesome app!!!!) then you cannot view your selected choice in Google Maps as the feature only works in Ovi Maps.

    3. There is no voice navigation as found in Ovi Maps and the driving directions in Google Maps are so small that you cannot easily read them while driving. Nice way to get a ticket or into an accident.

As a side note, I have found the GPS link in Ovi Maps slow on my N97 and have heard others find it spotty. I have found that by keeping the AccuWeather widget on my home screen I get much faster GPS links in Ovi Maps since the phone is already connected to a satellite thru AccuWeather.
