    I tried to install key lock clock in my N79, but failed. It says certificate error.......

    why would we use the auto-keylock from this app instead of, say, the autokey lock built into the phone?
  • wampyre
    @jared
    I tried it and found that I wouldn't use it instead of the autokey lock built into my N97.

    I however found it useful to double up the autokey lock functionality. Setting the built in one to higher time and then use this one with a lower time setting.
    Then if the application one don't kick in the built in one will.

    Of course you can always argue about the usefulness of this, but as with every other software there are functions that you either use or simply don't. Also from the developers webpage it says that "if the automated key locker feature is needed, turn it on". So it's set to off by default.
  • Yep, and also some older devices did not have the automated key lock feature on them. Though the app is designed for N97 & 5800 in mind, it does work with older devices as well..

    Thanks, Dr.Jukka for chiming in.

    I do know that there is some phones without the automatic keylock function but I couldn't come up with which one.

    Anyway the function is optional and the main reason for installing this application is because you can't
    1. Use a flash file as screensaver (without going to 3rd party applications, in which most cases are a bit overkill)
    2. It's useful as it displays the time with good visibility, which is further improved in the new version as you can choose between the three system fonts.

    My first argument is a little vague of course as you still have to install Key Lock Clock, however the size is small and it's easy to use "out of the box" without draining too much system resources. (Application that does will lead to a slow "cold" boot up of your phone)

    Final thing I want to say is:
    "I like it".

    It would be nice if we can also customize the color of the clock displayed.

    @Arindam
    You have to have a certificate and then sign the application for yourself.
    There's a guide at Dr. Jukka's website explaining a bit about how to get the application signed. He refers to this website and I believe that should be enough to get the application signed and working.
