The Nokia E55 and the sibling E52 it’s the upgrade of the E51. The E55 is a Symbian-powered phone, most likely the S60 Feature Pack 2 version of the OS.
It has a 3.5 mm headphone jack so you can use your own headset for music enjoyment. Being a quadband handset means that you can use it in most parts of the world and sporting a compact-qwerty keyboard typing is easily done. It has a micro usb for data connectivity which doubles up for charging the handset. Unfortunately no word is out yet on when this handset will be available in the US market but for the Euro market it will arrive shortly this year.
What’s interesting is that when looking on the Norwegian website it says that PC Suite version 7.2 will be included in the memory card that comes in the sales package. (Current one is version 7.1.30.9). Also it’s mentioned that there’s a trial 60 days trial for Files On Ovi and 10 days trial for OVI Maps. This may of course vary in different markets but yet exciting to see.
For pictures and other test results of this sexy thin phone from Nokia you can head over at FCC yourself. What do you think of this particular handset?
