Just announced is the signing of a three year contract between Roadpilot and Nokia. Roadpilot is a company that offers devices for GPS tracking, speed camera warning and traffic alerts. The contract includes a bundled package of Roadpilot’s speed camera and traffic alert, soon to come to OVI Maps.
According to Dr Vesa Luiro, Director for Nokia Social Location services. “This agreement is part of a broader initiative to keep Nokia at the forefront in the delivery of new technologies and applications for mobile phone users. We are confident that the breadth, quality and reliability of RoadPilot’s data will help improve driver awareness and road safety.”
Now I don’t want to be mean, but wouldn’t such an enhancement lead to people misusing this? I believe now that fast drivers can rejoice having a Nokia handset.
