Hmm, I definitely agree that there should be a lot more connectivity and bi-directional synergy between mobile devices and the pc. I'm similarly have around 100gb that I like to transfer quite frequently to my mobile.

I actually replaced my ipod with my nokia just because, as a player the quality was pretty bad, and the software was clunky (not saying that the nokia software is better..) but also I hated using iTunes. What's the point of re-categorizing and having to recode half of my music (ended up having to double the space needed for my music, whilst having a greater loss in sound)? All on a bloated 80mb software package!

On the speed note though, I have the N86 and I haven't experienced the same problems when transferring music.

I've been using the phone in PC Sync mode - a far slower alternative if dragging and dropping, however, when used in conjunction with Windows Media Player (12?) it took about 1.5 to 2 hours for 13gb. Also, when refreshing the list, it only takes about 30secs.

Maybe the firmware fixes it, or maybe it's just a difference between the Symbian platforms?

Totally agree. I find it difficult to carry both iPod and Nokia phone. iPhone is too expensive in India and none of Nokia phones offer iPod experience.
