Nokia’s WOM World is known for doing some fun and crazy marketing stunts, and this latest one actually has me a bit jealous! WOM World is sending a few folks – armed with the Nokia N97 – on a 2 week trip across the United States, stopping in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, and New York City. Each person will be testing out the N97 in a series of real-world tests, and recording their adventures with the phone, as well.
The coolest thing is, along the way, each person will be hosting a BarCamp, talking about their interest and experience in Content Creation, Content Consumption, Communication, and Navigation. These BarCamps are free to attend, so if you’re in one of those cities, you’ll most definitely want to head over there to check it out.
The bloggers taking part include Andrew Currie, Matthew Bennett, Jonathan Bruha, and George Kelly. I’m glad to see Nokia doing some marketing (sort of) in the U.S., especially after we were left out of the big Search for the N campaign. While I found the Nokia N97 to be insanely frustrating, Dotsisx has really been loving hers, so if you’re keen to take your chances, Amazon just dropped the price down to a reasonable $600 yesterday.
