Nokia N97 Firmware Updated To v12.2.024

Many users are reporting that a new firmware, v12.2.024, is available via NSU for the Nokia N97. Apparently, this update is available for RM-507, and affects both APAC and EMEA, though I’m sure that others will follow shortly. There is no changelog available as of right now, but it’s always recommended that you apply any firmware updates, specifically on a phone as buggy as the Nokia N97.

You can download Nokia Software Update here, as I do not believe that the firmware is available through OTA (over-the-air) as of yet. We’ll update this story with any additional details as they come available. The Nokia N97 does feature UDP (User Data Preservation), which means you cna apply the update without losing any personal data or settings. However, it’s always a good idea to backup any critical information before updating, just in case.

    It’s available for RM-505 as well. Updating just now. And the difference between 12.2 and 12.0 is not a mess-up, it’s related to the RM/the region, as in EMEA, NAM, etc. As long as it starts and ends with the same digits you’re good to go.

    Hopefully the amount of free RAM has increased after a fresh restart as displayed on RC.

    I did the update, so I cant connect the internet by the bluetooth modem yet. The n97 dont supports internet’s call yet too. For me, the update didn t resolve my problems…

    Is the browser new? I can’t tell. I know there’s a new 7.1 browser (via Forum Nokia) and the app says 7.1.x , but the settings look exactly the same. Didn’t check the vers before the update.
