Pixelpipe is a free service in which you could upload your photos and videos from your Symbian-powered handset to multiple destinations such as Flickr, Picasa, Facebook, Twitter and so on, all in one go.
Their new announcement says that they will be releasing 50 new applications to the Android, iPhone and Ovi Store. The reason for that is that “the company realized that half of Pixelpipe’s users only used the service to forward files to one service” according to Pixelpipe’s CEO and founder Brett Butterfield.
They have therefore decided to break down Pixelpipe’s destinations into their each own applications to serve this market better. In doing so they will link the Pixelpipe name closer to the brand their services support\ and each application will cost $0.99 whereas a pro version with all the 100 services is available for $1.99.
Surely revenue most come from somewhere and I understand their decision. Just look at for instance Shozu. But having two applications to be able to upload to two places is a waste of screen estate and one more unnecessary icon if you ask me. Luckily there is the pro version. What do you think?
