Back in April, a reader pointed out that, despite Nokia being a major sponsor of TED – Technology, Entertainment, and Design – they haven’t made the videos available for mobile phones. The online streams do not seem to work with any of the latest Symbian-powered smartphones, and even the downloadable mp4 has trouble playing back. Fortunately, it looks like someone was listening, as a company called Momentum has begun uploading TED talk videos to the Ovi Store.
Currently, there are only three videos available, including Saul Griffith on wind energy, Shai Agassi on electric cars, and Bruce predicting Iran’s future. It’s a small start, but a start, nonetheless. You should be able to access the videos here. If that link doesn’t work, search the Ovi Store for ‘momentum’ (searching TED doesn’t work, which is silly, but none of the videos are ‘tagged’ as TED talks).
