Several weeks ago, I teased our Twitter followers that I was testing a top-secret new application that many of you would *LOVE* to have. Today, that application is revealed as FExplorer Pro, from our good friends at SBSH. FExplorer was previously considered a must-have application as the most powerful file explorer in the Symbian world.
FExplorer Pro, from SBSH, has been completely rewritten for the S60 3rd Edition and S60 5th Edition platforms, with full support. It includes a powerful file browser, screenshot capture, and backlight control. The file browser fully supports ZIP files, and also allows access to Nokia’s hidden folders, as well as a hex, binary, and text editor built-in.
FExplorer Pro also includes a number of other phone related tools, such as a phone info screen, where you can quickly find out the IMEI, firmware version, and other important information about your phone. You can also restart your phone through this submenu, which is definitely convenient, and get details about the network that you are currently connected to.
To put it short, FExplorer Pro will easily replace several utilities that most of us use anyways. It also adds a ton of functionality not previously available, and it supports all of the current Symbian-powered handsets, which is definitely a plus. The application was rewritten to be modular, which will allow the SBSH team to make improvements and add functionality over time. All future updates are free for registered users, but they also give you a full 12-day trial period, so you can check it out on your phone.
You can purchase FExplorer Pro for $7.95 here. However, we also have 5 license keys to give away to our readers! To enter, all you need to do is leave a comment, telling us a feature that you would like to see added to FExplorer Pro in the near future. This time around, you can only enter once – so make it count. The contest ends Thursday, September 17, 2009, at 10 am GMT -6.
