You didn’t think we forgot about Friday Fun, did you? Of course not. Instead of just a video this week, though, we also have photos. What you’re seeing is, to the best of my knowledge, the FIRST Symbian-powered Mobira cell phone. Nokia’s first cell phones were produced under the name Mobira, a company that Nokia was a partner in, but later purchased in 1984. The phone pictured here is the Mobira Talkman, launched in 1984. It has been gutted and fitted with, as you can see, some sort of insides that are running the Symbian operating system, likely with S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 1.

The phone is also somehow connected to a full PC, so that it could, theoretically, be used as a media center. Obviously, with only 8-bit graphics support and a 32GB hard drive, that’s not realistic, but at least it *could*, right? If you could make any older Nokia phone into a Symbian-powered unit, which one would you choose? I think I would have to choose one of those classy older candybars with the automatic sliding covers, like the Nokia 8910 or something slick like that.
