If you don’t have Black Phoebe in your RSS reader, you’re really missing out. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Ms. Jen in person a few times, and she’s really a passionate mobile user. She had the opportunity to use the Nokia N97 for a while, and has some interesting thoughts, including some very valid points that also frustrated me about the phone.
You can read the full account here, along with some great sample photos. Ms. Jen is known for her photography passion, and she puts the N97 to task on a number of very valid points. Specifically, she wonders why Nokia can’t add touch-manual focus to the N97, like other touchscreen phones have. She’s also extremely frustrated (believe me, ‘extremely’ is an understatement) with the lack of moblogging options on Symbian devices. Ms. Jen previously used Lifeblog religiously, and the newer ‘replacements’ simply don’t stand up, to her. I personally love Pixelpipe, and use it on all my phones.
The biggest point that Ms. Jen makes is the lack of Nokia software on this supposed flagship device. I also found this frustrating, as Nokia has plenty of applications, such as SportsTracker and others, which should have been pre-loaded on the N97, rather than forcing the user to hunt them down.
What do you think? Are you still loving your Nokia N97? What do you think Nokia should do to help mobloggers out?
