The Nokia Beta Labs, not to be left out of the Nokia World excitement, has released a trio of applications for Symbian^1 (S60v5) devices, mostly the Nokia N97 (and inevitably the N97 Mini). These applications are all available to be downloaded today, right now, but they do come with varying levels of stability. Also, remember they’re from the Beta Labs, which means that they’re not entirely finished. If you’re going to use them, make sure you submit bugs and other feedback through the Beta Labs forums.
Social Messaging - Nokia Messaging, now on what feels like its upteenth name change, has a new focus on social networks, including location-based status updates. There’s a homescreen widget for the N97, and, well, you can get more information here. There’s also a video of it in action:

Lifecasting With Ovi - Lifecasting with Ovi, to officially debut on the Nokia N97 Mini, is available to testers as well. Keep that in mind - if you download this, it will likely be buggy. Testers are encouraged to file reports. Basically, lifecasting integrates with Facebook, somehow. We’re still investigating it, so check it out and report back.
