Sorry, but I have to disagree that the Ovi store has improved in any way, shape or form. I'm a lifelong Nokia user, and they are getting to the point where after 14yrs with their handsets I'm considering giving them the boot.

The whole Ovi store functionality on the handset is backward arsed, and designed in such a way that there is quite a high data payload for each page viewed. Instead of an actual app which could just receive XML data and limit the information downloaded to that and app screenshots, it is passing full mobile web pages which increase the traffic payload to around 40-80kb average.

The search functionality is almost useless, and there's no way to customise it - say if you'd like more apps to appear per page etc.

And then there's the range of products in there, which is hopeless and full of rubbish apps which either don't work, I don't want or will never need. Seriously, leverage the GPS or other features on my phone and regionally target apps - why would I want an app which is only designed for the US market when I'm in Australia?

I make a point of purchasing my software elsewhere, because Ovi Store irritates me to no end - even more so than the music store which could be the subject of an entire article on its own.
