Google Mobile Apps Now Available In The Symbian-Guru Store

One of the most important things to any mobile app store, in my opinion, is quality freeware. I realize that doesn’t make sense at first glance, but it’s important to establish the store as a destination for useful, high-quality applications. While we have had a solid freeware section in the Symbian-Guru Store, we’re always working to improve the applications you find there. As such, today we’re pleased to announce that you can now download the latest versions of Google’s mobile applications directly from the Symbian-Guru Store!

As of today, you can download both Google Maps Mobile and the Google Mobile App directly from the Symbian-Guru Store. Other Google Mobile apps should be available soon, as well. The store is fully mobile-accessible, so you can easily visit the site right from your phone and download the latest software straight to your phone.

Don’t forget there are also some great commercial applications available through the Symbian-Guru Store, including the recently updated iON BatteryTimer, SBSH FExplorer Pro, and my personal favorite, Handy Taskman.

    Ricky, I really have to compliment you and/or whomever helped build the mobile version of the Symbian-Guru Store. A couple weeks ago Evan was about to leave for the airport when he realized he had nothing to watch on the plane. We were quickly able to transfer some movies from my i8910 to his new N86, but as we all know, the built-in Nokia video player is a little bare bones. Getting those movies to play using out-of-box software would have involved a computer and over a hour to convert the files to the right format and bitrate. Instead, we were able create an account on the Symbian-Guru store, then buy and download a copy of Core Player in as much time as it took to transfer a couple of 700mb files. The mobile version of the store is just as easy to use and almost as fast as the desktop version. It really saved us a lot of time that we didn’t have to waste.

    Hi there

    I have just purchased a SE Satio – my first ‘smart’ phone. I have been searching around the web for where to get apps/games to put on it and I haven’t really been able to find more than a few worthless apps. I would appreciate a posting here listing the best sources for Symbian Apps… The longer I have been searching the more I have been jealous of iphone holding friends that have gotten addicted to getting all these free apps.
